You know, the semi-colon thing was the only thing preventing me from using this font full-time in Visual Studio (I know, seems small, but I code mostly in C# so there are a lot of ‘em) :)

I look forward to the upgrade when it is ready.

Looks great! You do fine work. I’m looking forward to test driving 0.7 as soon as you’re ready to release it! I’m still using DejaVu LGC Sans Mono for NetBeans, but Envy Code R has taken over on both Linux and Windows for all my other monospaced font needs!

The topmost row of pixels was not actually used in any of the characters, it was entirely blank. No information is lost, the characters are just one pixel vertically closer together now.

The text widget wraps on some browsers and not on others – I’ve no idea why as the design is based on something called Redoable which probably sets some properties that don’t quite work in a cross-platform friendly manner.

Damien, your typography work is impressive and will fill a very real need.
I appreciate your making it available. Q: Why shave off the topmost row of pixels?
To me, having not been aware of your project and looking at the sample just now for the
first time, it seemed that it suffered from having a row of pixels shaved off.
I wasn’t quite able to put my finger on what was wrong, until I read your note.
Are the box characters worth that?

I’m definitely looking forward to when you make it being available and putting it to
immediate use.

BTW, why does this text-widget not wrap my input to the next row as I type off the
right edge? !!

I think at this rate I’ll end up shipping an Envy Code R construction set tool allowing the selection of various alternative symbols and letters ;-)

I wasn’t that initially keen on curly brackets but they’ve really grown on me. There is a slashed 0 in that screen-shot, it’s in green. The others are the letter O…

I meant the curly quotes – not the braces. :-) (Unicode characters U 2018 through U 201F.) In most fonts those aren’t very curly, which makes it relatively hard to tell that they’re curled and which way they’re curled. I like the curlier braces you drew too though – same reason: easy to tell that they’re curlies.

Nice work on the box drawing characters!

Can’t wait to give it a spin.
