I do not recall where the inspiration for this one came from nor exactly when it was created, I suspect 2018.
This font is super bold but also has some flourishes and the odd serif. Surprisingly with all that it looks pretty good and is usable for titles and dialog. I would be careful with colors to ensure good contrast especially if aiming for CRT users.
I created this font in 2018 as a tribute to the 80s game publisher Firebird.
I’m sure the font used in their logo has been around for a long time but I’ve not been able to track down the exact one they used so once again this is a pretty liberal interpretation based on just those 8 letters.
It works quite well for titles and short runs of text. I wouldn’t recommend it for anything longer - it gets to be hard work reading it!
I designed this font in 2018 in BASIN drawing inspiration from my memory of Mortal Kombat (hence the name).
Like my Tentacle Font my memory of what the font was versus what Googled screenshots are quite different (the arcade font is thicker, rounder and more decaying depending on what version and text you’re looking at). Mostly this font is more of the style of the FIGHT! message.
Still, this font looks great on title screens and even works okay for text adventures at a pinch.
I’d already done Broadwary and two variants of Cinema - why another 20s art-deco font? Well, the simple reason is I don’t think either of them shows enough flair.
Created in 2019 this font contains more brazen curves and angles and is much more aligned with the actual ‘Broadway’ font created in the 1920s. It’s my favorite of the three and the extra bold heavy version is quite extreme. There’s also a more restrained bold and an open variant included too.
It works well for everything from prose and dialog through to titles and lists.
