I designed this font in 2019 in BASIN as a fun straight-edge almost-chiseled feel with corners that keep on going and generous serifs.
This font works great for titles and small runs of text and at you can even use it even for low-density text adventures at a stretch.

The Times font, and especially its more recent Times New Roman update, are ubiquitous being standard on pretty much every platform under the sun.
Designing this font in 2018 the challenge was developing a bold serif in 8x8 that didn’t just look like a generic bold serif but retained the style of Times. Between the oval 0, the double-story g and subtle contrasts on angled lines.
The font works well in many scenarios where you want a bold, formal look.

I love point ‘n click adventures and so seeing early Sierra’s King’s Quest lately put me on a mission to squeeze one into the 8x8 grid.
The majority of the characters just fit so really this job was just about squeezing in those pesky descenders.
This font works well for anything you can throw at it and a proportional renderer would be the icing on a cake.
Originally commissioned by IBM in 1955 for use on their typewriters it soon became a de facto standard on typewriters, screenplays and successfully made the jump to graphical user interfaces with the advent of TrueType after a slow start as a bitmap font.
I created this font around 2006 as part of the BASIN package which required some fonts for people to use in their apps and games but was cleaned up in 2018 to try and make it feel more distinctly Courier and less a generic mono-spaced serif.
The monospace design of the original makes it work quite well on the Spectrum with even spacing. It works well for title, information and blocks of text and gives a smart feel that does not feel as dated as Courier does on modern platforms.
