Anvil Wrought by hammer and iron.

Anvil is a 2021 attempt to tackle the rustic, old-lettering but readable style made popular by many a Spectrum text adventure (without actually referencing it so as to avoid copying it).

Descenders were done away with to ensure the maximum height was available for letters with a stylization trick taking care of g, angling y to sit it on the baseline without breaking the flow and with p and q having a large bowl that steeply joins the stem to give the impression of both a stem and a counter in the same space. I quite like it.

It works well for many scenarios and could even work with a text adventure if you can inject an extra line of vertical space between the rows.
